Do It For the Blog! My Adventures in Norway

Image
Merry Christmas! I can't believe Christmas is less than 10 days away!! This year has gone by SO FAST, some of the moments from this year seem like a lifetime ago, which is both a good and a bad thing. So far December has been a very exciting month! I've gone to Winter Wonderland, two concerts (Jess Glynn and The 1975! I'll talk more about my emotional night seeing The 1975 later) and traveled to Norway! As my beautiful, Norwegian friend Guro kept saying during my visit, "do it for the blog!" So this post is, of course, dedicated to her. I arrived in Oslo on December 1st to a tiny snow flurry and dense fog. Flying over Norway I immediately fell in love with the mountains and valleys and knew I was in for an amazing few days. I met Guro at the central train station where we then met up with our friends Stian and Brage, both of whom were in my course at uni and moved back to Oslo when we handed in our dissertations. The four of us went on a driving tour of Oslo a...

Exploring Munich and Salzburg

Hello again! It's only been a few days since my last update which is unusual for me, but writing my last post I remembered just how much I enjoy making blog posts, and I have lots more to say so I figured why not keep going! This post is specifically going to be about my trip to Germany and Austria, the rest of October and November will come later (after Thanksgiving!) Last month I had the pleasure of traveling to Munich, Germany where I met up with my parents who flew in a few days before me. Firstly, I was beyond excited to see my parents again and was overjoyed at being able to spend a few days with them. I am so lucky to have the parents I do. They are both such kind, caring, funny, intelligent, wonderful people and I am so grateful to have the relationship with them that I do. I love spending time with them and can talk to them about anything. I arrived in Germany in the late afternoon on Tuesday the 18th of October. My flight from London was less than an hour and a ...

BASTILLE! Stonegenge! And other August and September Updates

Image
Hello everyone! Am I the only one who can’t believe it’s already NOVEMBER?? It’s so crazy! I’ve lived in London for well over a year now! And what a year it's been... I would like to start off my profusely apologising for the massive delay in blog posts. My life has been hectic and stressful as of late and I just honestly haven't had the time to do this post justice. And since I have so much to catch up on, I'm going to keep this post pretty brief for each item. With that said, let's jump into it! I've decided to just do August and September updates first and October and November will come in another week or so, so stayed tuned! August   August was an insane month. The biggest thing that happened was I submitted my Master’s dissertation! It was the most stressful thing I’ve ever done, so stressful I got super sick and ended up getting strep throat and had to go on antibiotics for two weeks. So lame. I ended up spending upwards of seven hours a day wor...

Vamanos a Espana! (and a July Update)

Hola! Things have been seriously crazy around here lately. So much has happened since my last update! Mostly just dissertation work for me, at this point I'm five weeks out for turning it in so we're getting down to crunch time. I'm trying to manage my time though and still allow myself to have some fun while living in London. For example, I played hookie the other day and spent the whole day at Thorpe Park which is a super awesome amusement park. Instead of working on my dissertation I rode rollercoasters all day. I say it was a good trade off. Oh, and summer finally arrived! And it hasn't been messing around. We had the hottest day of the year and it got up into the 90's(Fahrenheit) and we were all dying since this country doesn't seem to believe in air conditioning. Now it's super nice weather, lots of sun and pleasant temperatures, I'm in my happy place right now. So what's new... I went to Wimbledon!! I'm not going to bore you too much...
